Inspired by the poet Sylvia Townsend Warner and her love for Dorset and Valentine Ackland.
It's a design that although overtly feminine, with a full gathered skirt, can be worn in a casual, androgynous way. T-shirt shape top with dropped shoulder and short sleeves, with a gathered skirt at the low waistline. There is a drawstring tie at the seam meaning the style can be pulled in to fit your waist, or worn loose.
This version features cut-work applique on the bodice of snapshots inspired by Lady Ottoline Morrel's collection; blurred black and white images of her little girl in the orchard mounted onto now faded sugar paper, with her handwritten caption beneath.
